New 2016 Sonata's with in-cabin iPhone connectivity via Apple CarPlay are just around the corner. Hyundai announced the news via a press release earlier this morning. The safer, smarter, and easier way to use an iPhone in the car, Apple CarPlay delivers access to maps, streaming content, messages, and more, all while maintaining focus on the road.

“Sonatas with CarPlay are rolling off our assembly line in Montgomery, Alabama, and arriving at Hyundai dealerships nationwide,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president, corporate and product planning, Hyundai Motor America. “Not only is Sonata built in America, it also is built with a high technology experience in mind.”

Apple CarPlay connects to the driver's iPhone via a Lightening connector, and works with models 5 and newer. With CarPlay, Siri delivers an eyes free smartphone experience via voice commands. Using the voice button on the steering wheel, drivers can select music, get directions, and more. CarPlay is available on the 2016 Sonata’s seven-inch Display Audio touchscreen and eight-inch navigation systems, optimizing the consumer experience even further with a larger screen.
